Is this mathematical statement true or false?

The directions are: decide whether the statement is true or false.

10% of $38 is $0.38.

I know nothing about finding percentages...how would I find the answer to this?

For those that are wondering, I'm in the 9th grade (high school) and I'm really awful with math.Is this mathematical statement true or false?
10% of $38 isn't $0.38, it's $3.8.

10% = 0.1, so you multiply $38 by 0.1 to get $3.8.

($0.38 would be 1%, or 0.01, of $38)Is this mathematical statement true or false?
Change the percent to a decimal. (This goes for all percents)

To change it to a decimal, always move the decimal to the left twice,

Let's take your problem:

10% * .01 = .1

So now that you have your decimal instead of a percent, you can take the decimal and multiply with the price $38.

.1 * $38 = $3.8

Now that we found our answer, we know the statement is false.

Hope this helps a bit :)
false i think

no 10% would be 3.8
