True or False: There are no savage and civilized peoples; there are only different cultures?

Bullsh!t.

Culture reflects the type of people who compose it. Culture isn't randomly bestowed, it's formed. Savage cultures should not be respected simply because they are a 'culture'True or False: There are no savage and civilized peoples; there are only different cultures?
No, there are some cultures that I consider to be savage and I am not going to deny that and be politically correct about it. As a woman, I would not want to live in most Islamic countries. I consider them to be savage. Why are they savage? Is it their culture or their people? I don't know, and I don't care. Let them sort it out themselves. I am happy to live with civilized people, no matter their culture. I can not live amongst savages and pretend that they are not savage.True or False: There are no savage and civilized peoples; there are only different cultures?
False.

There are some cultural attributes that are different but not in a way that one is superior to another (for instance, France, Italy, Japan, and Thailand all have vastly different culinary cultures, but none is superior or inferior to another - people's tastes just acclimate to the ones with which they're familiar).

However, a culture that practices science is better than a culture which puts superstition and magic in its place - the former is more able to understand and manipulate their world accurately. A culture with a feudal nobility system is inferior to a culture with a free market - because an economy that only expects some to contribute is not as powerful as one that expects all to contribute.

So, while it's true that a culture can be different without being superior or inferior, it's also true that a culture can be different in a way that makes it superior or inferior to another.
Mainly false. I think there are practices which should universally be considered savage and uncivilised. Any culture which promotes violence or treats certain groups of people inhumanely is uncivilised. There are basic rights and a standard of living that everyone should have.

I suppose we can never really know who's right though... I mean, there will be people in other countries who think the number of abortions in Western countries is just as barbaric as we think forced marriage in their country is.
Except in some cultures cannibalism and rape and murder are commonplace, right? It's silly to say a society where people live with indoor heating is equal to a society where people starve to death in mud huts.

No. Some social models simply don't work, while others do. Cultures are not created equally just because people are.
Our Nature temps us all with savagery. The measure of a civilization is how strongly it can resist those temptations. Modern feminists (and pretty much all ';progressives';) prefer to embrace our savagery while pretending to be sophisticated. They reduce society to a collection of gorillas in top hats.
False.

Savage is a term used to describe a particular culture. So, yes, it's a different culture. But that culture can be rather savage. I would say that if a culture is ruled by fear and power rather than standard laws... Then, it's savage.
Well our definition of a civilized person would not be a savage person would it?

Maybe the PC brigade have changed this meaning of the word ' civilized also without my knowledge.
True.

Bluebeard's response makes sense to me even when she says the opposite. I can kinda relate to Feminecron's response using my basic knowledge in Physics and entropy.
True, each culture has it's own beliefs. What might seem savage to us is civilized and acceptable to another culture.
False, there are definitely savage people, in every culture.
True. Haven't you ever watched Pocahontas?
false. they exist within both cultures.
