u get a starYou are significant, but not important to the universe: true or false?
Anything significant to the universe is also important to the same! Thinking oneself as ';something important'; to others (forget universe) is simply over-smartness or over pride. Here 'importance' is judged by ';you'; as if knowing the universe well! But 'thinking significant' indicates that you were judging yourself, not the universe. It's same with a country: being a citizen of a country you may consider yourself as someone significant to the nation, to the country. Your country loves you %26amp; needs you. When a country needs one, then of course one is significant to that country; but that doesn't mean that you're important as well! (It's good to be important to everything.)You are significant, but not important to the universe: true or false?
True, I think. We are all worthy of consideration and respect, but we will be a long time dead and forgotten. It might be that the universe needs our unique little viewpoint in order to complete some vast cosmic plan, so that we had to happen. Sometimes I think that this might be true, but it is a bit speculative, and anything that flatters my ego that much is always a bit suspect!
TRUE, but not entirely tho, because we are not significant at all, we're just here. unimportant to the universe, nothing is because nothing affects it enough to be important. How are you important in an infinity of unimportant things?how can u affect something thats infinite?
TMAN
I am the universe, whatever I'm doing right now or wherever I am is no different than where a star is. I'm an expression of the entire universe and have just as much significance as if I were Jesus himself. If I wasn't here doing whatever I'm doing, the universe would cease to exist.
False;
I think each person plays a role that affects the whole universe around them. Even if it is a tiny thing it all makes a difference in the bigger picture. Take away one piece of the whole and it will be altered or incomplete.
False. You may only be significant or important to those who you affect. You are not significant to the universe, neither are you important to it.
Neither or both. The universe isn't an either/or kind of place, it's a both/neither kind of place. Life is inherently contradictory.
I think human beings create their own significance and the fact that we exist within this universe is completely besides the point.
Let me rephrase:
We are significant, but not to the universe, which cares not and knows not.
True.
...true...
...i can do without the universe...
...all is happening here on terra firma...
This isnt a true/false question, like most philosophical questions.
Don't they both me the same thing. I'm confuse on the question
