True or False: A light year is the amount of time it takes light to travel in one year.?

I put false. My astronomy teacher says it is true.True or False: A light year is the amount of time it takes light to travel in one year.?
FALSE - A light year is the DISTANCE light travels in one year.?True or False: A light year is the amount of time it takes light to travel in one year.?
LOL

wow you must have a legit retarded teacher.

It takes light, hmmm let's see.... A YEAR to travel one year!

a light year is the distance it travels in a year
Yeah your teacher is wrong on that one. A light year is the distance light travels in a vacuum over the course of 1 year.

The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second (299,792,458 meters per second). So if you want a distance it would be 2,410,560,000,000 miles(3,885,307,663,860 kilometers)
wow these people are retards. it is false

light years is a measure of distance NOT time.
It's the distance that travels in one year.
i think ur right... the light year is the distance and not the amount of time.
Haha...If light travels for a year...how long did it travel for? A light year is distance (186,000 m/s). When measuring large distances, it becomes quite hard to say that something is 1847593759838575900000000000000000000000鈥?miles away, so instead say something like 2 light years, or 15 million light years. Basically...it's the distance that light would travel within that set amount of time. I mean...perhaps you should ask your astronomy teacher whether a retard year is the time it takes from her one birthday to the next.
Yes !... The answer will be true as because in any Physics book(espeacially in the Astronomy section), you will find the definition of light year which is same as in your T/F question... You may also search the internet for detail information %26amp; knowledge...
reread your question. are you sure you have the question correct? replace';amount of time'; with ';distance'; and the answer is true. check question for right words.
true
It's a measure of DISTANCE and not time. Light travels about 6 TRILLION miles in one year.

You are correct. Your teacher needs to go back to school.

your astronomy teacher is wrong... a light year is a measurement of distance, not time and is defined as the distance light travels in one earth year.
F-f- er-I mean ah-true.
