Is it true or false, that when surfing you see dolphins, sharks are not present?

I was told that when you see dolphins when you surf, sharks are not around? just wondering if its a myth or something? just curious. Is it true or false, that when surfing you see dolphins, sharks are not present?
Mikey gave you a very good link, and a good answer. It is false. Sharks and dolphins are often in the same spot. You see, dolphins and sharks like the same tasty treat, and if there is a yummy school of menhaden or mullet or cod there is a fair chance of predator competition, which result in shark/dolphin conflicts. Sharks a solitary hunters, dolphin relay on team work, so they often gang up on a shark. But, one on one, its a pretty even fight. So if you see dolphins, its a fair bet that there are some sharks feeding on the same food source. But don't worry, humans are not sharks' food of choice. Most attacks on humans are a result of predator competition (they think you want to eat their fish) or mistaken identity (they think you are their fish) .http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/Sharks/ISA鈥?/a>Is it true or false, that when surfing you see dolphins, sharks are not present?
It's false. I couldn't find a better link, so the one below will have to suffice. Some larger sharks eat dolphins, and dolphins have successfully defended themselves against sharks, but there's no merit to the claim that sharks avoid dolphins.
