And we know the squeaky wheel always gets the oil.Women tend to scream and cry, men tend to suffer in silence. True or false?
TrueWomen tend to scream and cry, men tend to suffer in silence. True or false?
I think that's true for most people. Women are more verbally expressive and will usually talk to their friends or family about their problems, whereas men are more likely to bottle things up or turn to drink.
I'm one of the exceptions though. I tend to stay silent about any problems I'm having until they're dragged out of me, and I'm not good at talking about feelings.
Hah that's a laugh. I have seen sooo many men cry in my life time... And I have seen even more men whine and complain when they don't get what they want. I see more women maybe get momentarily shook up, then they go out to find the solution to the problem. Most men (not all though) just stand there complaining and expecting someone else (usually a woman) to come along and solve their problems.
FALSE: my mother cried in silence for years and no one knew she was being bullied by my grandmother (sonds petty but she was really horrible and nearly drove my mother to killing herself)
but actually I think it all depends on the person.
i'm not a person who cries in front of people because i'm afraid they will think i'm weak.
i've only ever cried ONCE in front of my best friend and since I was around ten, the number of times i've cried in front of my parents I can count in one hand.
Very true. As a guy though I don't see anything wrong with tears. I think it's stupid to let emotions just build up in you and have no outlet. My views on the stupidity of masculinity aren't very common though.
Very true.
And great analogy regarding the ';squeaky wheel';.
Well, no...sometimes people look at the squeaky wheel and say Shut up, wimp...
True, women are prone to higher levels of emotion than men.
There are exceptions for both genders though.
In my experiences %26amp; observations, this is true for th emost part. Naturally, there are exceptions.
There is no difference
Whether one keeps it in or lets it out: it's all the same and men and women feel it.
Men yell, throw missiles and pound furniture. My ex almost cut two of his own fingers off with a steak knife when he angrily stabbed at the wiener schnitzel on his plate and his hand slipped over the hilt of the knife. Blood spurted everywhere. He cut the nerves and the damage he did to his hand was permanent.
What a moron. I've never heard of a woman doing anything so utterly stupid.
TRUE.
Similar to the ';women make more noise in bed'; theory.
Are y'all afraid of being seen as sensitive?
you can make anyone scream and cry with enough pain.
edit:
mcc, that's because you live in a hippy colony.
false. The difference is that men are not listened to.
True, men tend to suppress their pain.
True. And to Julie M: Too right.
False.
very true
Not all men are silent. But who will scream louder if pushed off a cliff?
False. Ask almost any married woman. There are exceptions for both sexes, and the differences in men acting like violent brutes and women getting upset are often just products of estrogen and testosterone.... Still, men are often known to scream and yell to get their way for some things:
';YOU'RE NOT GOING! I WASN'T TALKING TO HER! I DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH HER! PLEASE GIVE ME ONE MORE CHANCE (BOO-HOO, WAAAH)! WE'RE NOT BUYING THAT! I DON'T LIKE IT! YOU CAN'T TALK TO HER!';
I heard PLENTY of men screaming in pain while I was in the hospital. One man had a jet-ski accident and he was screaming in pain. He had a broken arm and neck and he sure wasn't ';suffering in silence.'; I was in there for major surgery and as a woman, I did NOT cry or scream. Women tend to deal with lots of pain in our lives and we get through it.
I've seen men get kicked in the testicles and CRY like babies. I've seen many women endure the worst pains without screaming and crying. So, I completely disagree with you on the pain issue, dude.
I've known many women to suffer in silence due to abuse they suffered by their husbands or boyfriends.
Don't tell me that doesn't sound familiar.
you've obviously never seen a man lose a video game
It is true... that is why women get over stuff quicker than men.
yes and i forgot to pick up some oil, thanks.
